The invention relates to the use of benzazepine-N ethanoic acid derivatives, containing an oxo group bonded to the nitrogen atom in the (a)-position and which are substituted by a 1-(carboxy alkyl)-cyclopentyl-carbonyl amino radical in position 3. It also relates to the use of the salts and unstable esters of these derivatives in the treatment of hypertension, particularly to the treatment of certain types of secondary hypertension in large mammals and humans and to the production of suitable medicaments for this treatment. The origins of the hypertension which should be treated can vary greatly. The invention relates specifically to those types of secondary hypertension which may arise as a result of various non-cardiac diseases. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
