The system has a microwave aerial (20) for remotely exchanging information with an identification badge located in a vehicle e.g. lorry. An electronic management unit controls a toll indicator e.g. control light (121), arranged at an outlet of a toll payment lane and authorizing passage of the vehicle. A speed sensor (40) is arranged with the unit to prohibit the passage of vehicle moving in the lane if its speed is higher than a threshold speed comprised between 10 kilometers per hour (km/h) and 30 km/h. An independent claim is also included for a method of managing authorization of passage of a vehicle moving in a toll payment lane.
