A laser scanning unit is provided to improve productivity of a light source unit by simplifying an operation of assembling components of the light source unit and to achieve a stabilized correct operation of the laser scanning unit by minimizing an error generated in the assembling operation. A laser scanning unit includes a light source unit(10), an optical frame(15), a polygon mirror assembly(20), an imaging lens(30), a reflecting mirror, a horizontal synchronization mirror and a photo-sensor. The light source unit includes a light source set in a hole of the optical frame, a collimating lens located in front of the light source, and a cylindrical lens placed in front of the collimating lens. A slit(16) is formed at the hole of the optical frame, and a flange(17) for determining the position of the collimating lens and fixing the collimating lens is formed at the inner side of the optical frame.
