An optical recording and reproducing apparatus is provided to prevent a phenomenon in which a disc is separated to the outside during operation. A body(10) has an inlet(11). A deck(16) is installed in the body(10), and a spindle motor(17) and an optical pickup unit(20) are mounted in the deck(16). The tray is installed in the body(10) to come in and out through the inlet(11). The tray comes in and out of a loading device(30). A safe door(50) is installed at an inlet side. A door opening and closing device(60) advances and retreats by the operation of the loading device(30), and opens and closes the safe door(50).
