PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stator for a rotating-electric machine in which varnish hardly attaches to the end in the axial direction of outside diameter of a stator iron core, without causing nonconformities, such as rubbing with rotor to occur, even if varnish support member is provided, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The stator 8 is provided with an annular stator iron core 15 where a plurality of slots 15a that opens at the inner circumference are formed in the circumferential direction, and stator windings 16 wound on the slots 15a. Then, the varnish support members 24, in a sheet form, comes into tight contact the outermost diameter surface of the coil end groups 16r of the stator windings, and are arranged over the entire circumference.
