PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to highly accurately calculate an autocorrelation value in a designated direction within a designated range, including designated target position of an input target object that includes a plurality of input samples. SOLUTION: An autocorrelation value calculating method is used for calculating autocorrelation values, in a designated direction within the designated range including the designated target position of an input target object including a plurality of input samples. The method is provided with a first calculation step of calculating a first autocorrelation value, on the basis of a plurality of samples aligned on a line, extending in a designated direction passing through a target position or its vicinity among the plurality of input samples; a second calculation step for calculating a second autocorrelation value, on the basis of a plurality of samples aligned in a direction having a higher sample density than that of the designated direction among the plurality of input samples; and a third calculation step for calculating a final autocorrelation value, on the basis of the first and second autocorrelation values.
