PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of forming an image of high quality having deviation suppressed while suppressing the reduction in durability of a photoreceptor belt due to cleaning. SOLUTION: A cleaning blade 100 is attached to a blade bracket 104 capable of coming close to and going away from a photoreceptor belt 16, and a blade front end is allowed to be pressed to or detached from a front face 16F of the photoreceptor belt 16. The blade bracket 104 is provided with a magnet 114 so that a prescribed polarity (an N pole face 114) is turned to the front face 16F of the photoreceptor belt 16, and a magnet 116 is provided at a joint 17 on a rear face 16R of the photoreceptor belt 16 so that the same polarity (an N pole face 116) as the prescribed polarity is turned to the front face 16F. When the magnet 116 comes close to the cleaning blade 100 in accordance with rotation of the photoreceptor belt 16 (a direction of an arrow A), the magnet 114 rises due to magnetic repulsion generated between the magnets 114 and 116, and the front end of the cleaning blade 100 is detached from the front face 16F of the photoreceptor belt 16.
