PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of attaining improvement of total image quality including reduction of the grainness, extension of the color gamut, the color constancy, and the color stability. SOLUTION: A color processing method disclosed herein is configured such that when color separation data corresponding to a coloring material including chromatic colors and a black color different from the density are produced, the color separation data corresponding to the coloring material are produced at a high brightness region between a highest brightness and a brightness corresponding to a highest saturation reproducible by the coloring material at a hue corresponding to the coloring material, and color separation data corresponding to the chromatic colors and a black color at a low density are produced at an intermediate brightness region with a brightness lower than that of the high brightness region.
