PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HDD recorder incorporating a DVD device, that can effectively make a deceptive display of the content information for each DVD medium. SOLUTION: When detecting a DVD medium 91 loaded, this recorder acquires various medium information on the DVD medium 91 to compare with the various medium information acquired in the past. When there is the stored data matching and assigned a deceptive content information group, it makes a deceptive display of the content information by using this deceptive content information group. When there is no assigned content information group, or no stored data matching, it makes a deceptive display of the content information by using a deceptive content information group randomly picked up from the deceptive content information groups not assigned but stored on the HDD 13.
