PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purifier which can obtain purified water inhibiting the growth of microorganisms by maintaining the amount of an antibacterial agent constant during the use of a filter material while suppressing foreign tastes or odors in the purified water due to contamination of an antibacterial agent typified by residual chlorine without troubling a user and using the purified water wastefully. SOLUTION: The water purifier comprises at least a water purifying cartridge and a purified water side passage arranged on the secondary side of the water purifying cartridge, and is equipped with a means for discharging water containing antibacterial metal ions to the purified water side passage every time after the elapse of a prescribed time, or every time when a water stopping time reaches a set value.
