PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal holding device with a magnet which is capable of detachably attract and erect an opened umbrella onto to the metallic part of the roof or door of a car in the opened state at an arbitrary angle for the purpose of avoiding getting wet with rain and attaining free use of the hands when a user puts an infant onto a child safety seat or baggage in the care on rainy or snowy days, and a magnetic holding device capable of being held on the metallic part of the wall or ceiling of a building, a train or the like, and detachably holding the J-shaped handle of a commercially available umbrella in a folded state. SOLUTION: A holding device with magnet is detachably attached to the J-shaped handle portion of a commercially available umbrella. The magnetic universal holding device is composed of a detachable portion provided with a turn restricting mechanism capable of holding an arbitrary angle up to 360°and a spring fixed thereto, so as to be freely attached or detached to or from the J-shaped handle of a commercially available umbrella when necessary.
