PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can ensure the securement of a sealability of a communication portion between a connecting opening to connect a dust collection hose and a suction connecting opening of a dust collection unit, and the securement of attachability and detachability of the dust collection unit and the wear resistance of a sealing member. SOLUTION: The dust collection unit to collect dust is removably held in a halfway portion of a suction air duct ranging from the connecting opening to an electric blower. The dust collection unit has the suction connecting opening communicating with the connecting opening to suck air containing dust into the dust collection unit, and the sealing member 500 abutting against the dust collection unit and sealing the communication portion between the connecting opening and the suction connecting opening is attached to the outside periphery of the connecting opening of a body case. In the sealing member 500, a sealing portion 501a abutting against the dust collection unit is provided displaceably in a direction of butting against and separating from the dust collection unit, and a coil spring 503 to urge the sealing portion 501a toward the dust collection unit is provided.
