Provided is hard solid soap, which shows creamy bubbles while not damaging an air bubble forming property, and causes little cracking, swelling, melting or crumbling. The hard solid soap comprises polyvinyl pyrrolidone in combination with a soap base. The hard solid soap further comprises an agent for imparting transparency. In the hard solid soap, polyvinyl pyrrolidone is preferably used in an amount of 0.1-20 wt% based on the total weight of the soap. The agent for imparting transparency includes glycerine, 1,3-butanediol, propylene glycol, sorbitol or sucrose, and is used preferably in an amount of 5-40 wt%. |
