<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of discriminating whether a fixing roller is a hard roller or a soft roller, and setting a fixing condition into a predetermined condition on the basis of discrimination results. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a fixing device for fixing a toner image on a recording paper by the fixing roller having a heating means and a pressure roller pressed to the fixing roller, a discrimination means for discriminating whether the fixing roller is a hard roller or a soft roller, and a control means for setting a prescribed fixing condition on the basis of the discrimination results of the discrimination means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
