<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, wherein a fixing unit can be drawn through rails and the image forming apparatus is characterized in that the fixing unit can precisely be positioned in the apparatus, the peripheral space of the fixing unit is saved, and a manufacturing cost for the apparatus is suppressed low. <P>SOLUTION: The rails 30a and 30b are fitted to the fixing unit 15 and can be drawn out of an apparatus main body 1 (not illustrated). The fixing unit 15 has a groove part 37 formed in a direction parallel to the rails 30a and 30b, and the fixing unit 15 is slidably supported by a positioning pin 36 provided to a apparatus main body frame 33 through the groove part 37 and positioned when stored in the apparatus main body frame 33. Further, the fixing unit is positioned by being pressed against the apparatus main body frame 33 as well.
