PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a SAW (surface acoustic wave) resonator where discontinuity of an output phase accompanying switching of a frequency band never occurs in the case of performing FSK (frequency shift keying) communication. SOLUTION: The SAW resonator 100 has: an IDT 16a composed of a pair of interdigital electrodes 20aa and 20ab provided along the propagating direction of a surface acoustic wave in a piezoelectric substrate 12; an IDT 16b composed of a pair of interdigital electrodes 20ba and 20bb arranged in parallel with respect to the IDT 16a; and a switch means 60 for switch-connecting the interdigital electrodes 20aa and 20ab of the IDT 16a and the interdigital electrodes 20ba and 20bb of the IDT 16b to each other. When setting the sum of the width a1 of the intersection part of the electrode fingers 24 of the IDT 16a, the width a2 of the intersection part of the electrode fingers 24 of the IDT 16b and a distance (b) between the intersection parts of the respective IDTs 16a and 16b to be B, B is set to be in the range of 7λ≤B≤33λ(λis a wavelength of the surface acoustic wave).
