PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator with high assembly accuracy and high production efficiency, suppressing noise generated from a sound source, and suppressing propagation of vibration, in regard to a refrigerator with a compressor installed in a body upper part. SOLUTION: In the refrigerator, the compressor 52 is mounted in a top face rear of a storage chamber of an uppermost shelf being a wasteful space unreachable even by stretching, a flange face is formed on an end face of each wall of an outer casing 56 of a machine chamber, a machine chamber cover 62 is composed of a metal part and a resin part, and it is fixed to one part of a flange on both side walls of the outer casing.
