PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roofing material which smoothly flows down rainwater falling thereon toward an eaves edge side of an upper plate thereof, and reduces flow of rainwater into a recessed groove formed in a garter member, to thereby prevent leakage. SOLUTION: The roofing material 1a is formed of: a metallic external sheath member 6 consisting of the upper plate 2, side plates 3 arranged on both side of the upper plate 2, an inside joint portion 4 arranged on an upper edge of the upper plate 2, and an outside joint portion 5 arranged on a lower edge of the upper plate 2 and externally fitted onto the inner joint member 4; and a heat insulation material 7 arranged on a lower surface of the upper plate 2 of the external sheath member 6. Herein the upper plate 2 has flow regulating ribs 22 formed on both sides of the upper plate 2 along an inclination of a roof in a manner protruding upward from the upper plate.
