<p>A radar forms a transmission signal of FMCW system using available all frequency bands (F0) as a modulation band, and radiates a transmission beam (BeamHm) in a predetermined horizontal direction from a variable phase shifter. If a target is not detected, the horizontal beam direction is varied by the variable phase shifter and when a target is detected, transmission signals of FMCW system are formed sequentially in partial frequency modulation bands (F1-F5) obtained by dividing the all frequency bands (F0). Since the antenna of the radar is a traveling wave antenna, Beam(V1)-Beam(V5) having different directivity in the vertical direction are formed by varying the modulation band, and target detection is performed in the vertical direction.</p> |
