摘要 A controlling method for an anti-lock brake system is provided to considerably reduce a shock and a jerk when stopping a vehicle abruptly, by constantly releasing the braking operation and resuming the braking operation when braking the vehicle. A controlling method for an anti-lock brake system(ABS) comprises first, second, and third steps. The first step performs braking of a vehicle. The second step temporarily stops the operation of the ABS upon braking of the vehicle. The third step(S14) operates the ABS again. More particularly, the second step comprises first through fourth processes. The first process(S2) detects a first wheel speed(V1) which is the current wheel speed, a second wheel speed(V2) which is the wheel speed a predetermined time before detection of the first wheel speed, and a third wheel speed(V3) which is the wheel speed a predetermined time before detection of the second wheel speed. The second process(S4) determines whether the vehicle is stopped based on the first wheel speed. The third process(S6) calculates a brake release time based on the result of the second process. The fourth process temporarily stops the ABS during the brake release time.
