A plasma display device is provided to increase a luminance of a panel by forming a shutter on a front surface of a panel which transmits or interrupts light according to ON/OFF of voltage. A plasma display device includes a plasma display panel(230) and a liquid crystal shutter(210) formed on a front surface of the plasma display panel for transmitting or interrupting light according to ON/OFF of voltage. The liquid crystal shutter interrupts the light during a reset period or an address period. The liquid crystal shutter transmits the light if the voltage is ON, and interrupts the light if the voltage is OFF.
