[PROBLEMS] To provide a resin composition suitable for optical devices that without detriment to moldability, heat resistance, mechanical strength and low birefringence, subdues deterioration even when used in laser beams of near-ultraviolet region and minimizes changes of optical performance during usage, and that especially can maintain a high light transmittance, minimizing sticking of foreign matter onto the surface of moldings such as optical devices, and to provide an optical device obtained by molding the above resin composition and further an optical pickup unit utilizing the optical device. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] There is provided a resin composition comprising a polymer of specified structure and, contained in a specified mass ratio, specified two types of photostabilizers selected from among hindered amine photostabilizers of 400 to 5000 molecular weight. Further, there are provided an optical device obtained by molding the above resin composition and an optical pickup unit utilizing the optical device. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
