Disclosed is a novel harmful organism-controlling agent, particularly an insecticide or acaricide. An isoxazoline-substituted benzamide compound represented by the general formula (1) or a salt thereof; and a harmful organisms-controlling agent comprising the compound or salt: (1) wherein A1, A2 and A3 independently represent a carbon or nitrogen atom; G represents a benzene ring or the like; W represents an oxygen or sulfur atom; X represents a halogen atom, a C1-C6 haloalkyl group or the like; Y represents a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group or the like; R1 represents -CH=NOR1a, -C(O)OR1c, - C(O)NHR1d or a phenyl group substituted by (Z)p1, D-14, D-52, D-53, D-55 to - 59 or the like; R1a represents a C1-C6 alkyl group or the like; R1c represents a C1-C6 alkyl group or the like; R1d represents a hydrogen atom, -C(O)R15, - C(O)OR15 or the like; R2 represents a C1-C6 alkyl group, -CH2R14a, a C1-C6 alkynyl group, -C(O)R15, -C(O)OR15 or the like, provided that R2 may represent a hydrogen atom when R1 represents -CH=NOR1a, -C(O)OR1c or -C(O)NHR1d; R3 represents a C1-C6 haloalkyl group or the like; R14a represents a cyano group, -OR26 or the like; R15 represents a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C6 haloalkyl group, a C1-C4 alkoxy(C1-C4)alkyl group, a C1-C4 alkylthio(C1-C4)alkyl group, a C3-C6 cycloalkoxygroup, a C2-C6 alkenyl group or the like; R25 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group, a C1-C4 haloalkyl group, -C(O)R32, -C(O)OR32 or the like; R32 represents a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C3-C6 cycloalkyl group or the like; Z represents a halogen atom, a cyano group, a nitro group, a C1-C5 alkyl group, a C1-C6 alkoxy group or the like; m is an integer of 0 to 5; n is an integer of 0 to 4; and p1 is an integer of 1 to 5.
