<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator which can obtain a large displacement amount. <P>SOLUTION: This actuator is equipped with a plurality of piezoelectric elements, which are displaced according to applied electric signals, a base to which one end of each piezoelectric element is fixed, an abutting member which has a connecting part that is fixed, roughly parallel with the displacement direction of each piezoelectric element, at the other end of the piezoelectric element and an abutting part, a mobile member which is arranged at a position facing the abutting part and has a plurality of inclines inclined with respect to the displacement direction of the piezoelectric element, and a guide which supports the mobile member so that the mobile member is fee of shifting. By controlling application and interruption of the electrical signals to the plurality of piezoelectric elements and the magnitude of the electrical signals, according to the position of the mobile member, the abutting part abuts against or separates from the incline of the mobile member, thereby shifting the mobile member along the guide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
