<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method, capable of properly evaluating even in a long-term dependence communication traffic whose self-similarity figure changes that depend on the time scale. <P>SOLUTION: In an evaluation apparatus, relation between the dispersion the time scale associated with communication traffic is approximated by line segments, with respect to a plurality of selfsimilarities. Furthermore, a fragmentary self-similarity process is used, adopting a self-similarity process different from a time scale interval. Accordingly, in a communication network having a queue (buffer), probability Pr(Q>x) is calculated regarding the length of the queue longer than x so as to evaluate the quality of the communication traffic associated with the waiting time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
