PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of ensuring noiseless operation, capable of intercepting light leaking out of an outer housing without complicating the shape of an exhaust duct and capable of preventing a projection image from being swung by an exhaust flow. SOLUTION: A cooling air discharging part 62 composing the projector is disposed in an approximately L-shaped internal section defined by an optical unit 4 and projection lens 3 within the outer housing 2. The cooling air discharging part 62 includes an axial fan 621 and a second exhaust side duct 622. The axial fan 621 is disposed near a light source device 411 such that an intake port and a discharge port are inclined at predetermined angle with respect to a flat plane perpendicular to the projecting direction of the projection lens 3 and in the direction in which air is discharged toward the projection lens 3. The second exhaust side duct 622 has a vertical wall almost perpendicular to the direction in which air is discharged from the axial fan 621. Air discharged from the discharge port is guided to the exhaust port 233 by being bent almost 90°by the vertical wall so as to flow away from the projection lens 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
