PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstruction detection system for a vehicle excellent in an obstruction detection which can aim at the improvement in an obstruction detection capability near a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the obstruction detection system for the vehicle which arranges an ultrasonic sensor 2 into a vehicle body, and performs the obstruction detection of the vehicle 1 circumference, an center axis 22 of a wave transmitting direction of the ultrasonic sensor 2 is established approximately along the surface 12 of the vehicle body.
