DIAGNOSIS AND PREVENTION OF METABOLIC SYNDROME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for judging (diagnosing) onset or its possibility of metabolic syndrome, a prevention method and a prophylactic effective for onset of metabolic syndrome by identifying polymorphism of a gene related to onset of metabolic syndrome. SOLUTION: The polymorphism of protein being angiopoietin-1 gene or its translation product is one factor of onset of metabolic syndrome. Consequently, a method for simply judging onset or its onset possibility of metabolic syndrome is provided by using polymorphism of the angiopoietin-1 gene or angiopoietin-1 protein.
