APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR LIGHTING OF REMOTE CONTROL

An apparatus and a method for lighting a remote control are provided to change a light color of the remote control according to a mode of a selected device so that a user selected device can be easily identified and the utility of the remote control can be increased. An apparatus for lighting a remote control comprises an input unit(500) for allowing a user to select a device mode in the remote control, a memory(510) for storing the device mode, and a light(520) for lighting the remote control according to the device mode stored in the memory(510). The light of the remote control is turned off when a button of the remote control is not selected for a predefined time. The light of the remote control is turned on according to the device mode stored in the memory(510) when a button of the remote control is selected.
