A mobile communication terminal, a method for authenticating a battery, and a system thereof are provided to enhance reliability and to make it unnecessary to update information on the ID number of the battery by authenticating the battery via a battery authentication server having a database which stores information on the ID numbers of the batteries for each manufacturer. A method for authenticating a battery comprises the following several steps. A controller of a mobile communication terminal reads out information on an ID number of the battery(S301) and transmits the read information on the ID number of the battery to a battery authentication server(S302). The battery authentication server checks whether the information on the ID number of the battery exists in a proprietary database(S303). If so, the server transmits authenticated information to the terminal(S304). Otherwise, the server transmits unauthenticated information to the server(S305). The controller displays the authenticated or the unauthenticated on a screen(S306). The controller converts information into corresponding voice through a voice converter(S307) and outputs the voice via a speaker(S308).
