A display apparatus is provided to effectively remove an afterimage generated on a display panel by reducing a still image to a predetermined size and continuously changing the position of the image. A display apparatus having a display part(1) includes an image processor(2), an image sensor(3), and a microcomputer(4). The image processor processes an inputted image signal in a format to be displayed on the display part. The image sensor senses whether the image displayed on the display part is stopped or not. The microcomputer changes the size of the displayed image and moves the image on the screen of the display part when the image remains over a predetermined time on the basis of the sensing result of the image sensor.
