<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiver having such configuration that detects reception signals in a post stage of an AC coupling capacitance element, capable of preventing erroneous release of reception alarm signal due to delay in response at the order equal to or higher than secondary order of reception signal. <P>SOLUTION: An optical receiver 1 comprises a reception signal monitoring circuit 4. The reception signal monitoring circuit 4 comprises a peak level alarm generator 6a that generates peak level alarm signal LOSP<SB>1</SB>if the peak level of reception signal Sp<SB>3</SB>is smaller than a threshold value voltage V<SB>pk</SB>, a bottom level alarm generator 6b that generates bottom level alarm signal LOSB<SB>1</SB>if the bottom level of the reception signal Sp<SB>3</SB>is larger than a threshold value voltage V<SB>bt</SB>, and a reception alarm generator 9 for generating a logical sum (reception alarm signal LOS) of the peak level alarm signal LOSP<SB>1</SB>and bottom level alarm signal LOSB<SB>1</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
