<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller having high operability for solving the problem in operability of a touch panel screen where positions of icons displayed on a screen of a monitor television are ambiguous. <P>SOLUTION: This controller 10 is characterized in that, for example, when a plurality of icons 54 are displayed vertically on the screen of the monitor 48, LEDs provided opposite each other in the vertical direction of the controller 10 across the touch panel of the controller 10 illuminates, but LEDs provided opposite each other in the lateral direction of the controller 10 across the touch panel of the controller 10 do not illuminate. Consequently, parts of a design part 18 which are opposite each other in the vertical direction of the controller 109 illuminate since lights of the LEDs is guided.
