<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller for reducing manipulated variables when displaying desired menu items. <P>SOLUTION: A digital audio player includes a CPU. When accepting a menu key operation in such a status that a menu screen on which any of a plurality of menu items is described is displayed, the menu item is stored in a register (S29), and the menu screen is updated to a PLAY mode screen(fixed screen) (S5).
