PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake controller for a railway vehicle that is improved in riding comfort. SOLUTION: The brake controller for a railway vehicle is equipped with a target deceleration setting means 1 for setting the target deceleration of a railway vehicle; a speed detection means 4 for detecting the speed of the railway vehicle; an actual deceleration arithmetic means 5 for computing the actual deceleration from the difference in the speeds detected at a predetermined time interval by the speed detection means 4; an arithmetic means 6 of a brake force correction rate for computing the brake force correction rate for matching the actual deceleration to the target deceleration, when there is a difference between the target deceleration and the actual deceleration; and a brake force command means 2 for commanding to a brake force generation means 3 the brake force, obtained by adding the brake force corresponding to the target deceleration to the brake force, corresponding to the brake force correction rate.
