PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector which accurately performs the temperature correction of detection output. SOLUTION: The gas detector is equipped with: a catalytic combustion type gas sensor 1 equipped with a gas sensitive element 2 having an oxidative catalytic capacity at least formed of a material containing platinum and changed in the intrinsic resistance value of the gas sensitive element 2 in proportion to a temperature; a reference resistor 8 formed into the same shape and dimension as those of the gas sensitive element 2 from the same material as the gas sensitive element 2 and deactivated in gas sensitivity, a constant voltage source E for applying constant voltage to the series circuit of the gas sensitive element 2 and the reference resistor 8; a resistant value detecting part 10 for supposing the resistant value of the reference resistor 8 constant and detecting the resistant value of the gas sensitive element 2 using the voltage across both terminals of the gas sensitive element 2 and the applied voltage due to the constant voltage source E; and a concentration detection part 11 for performing linear interpolation calculation from the resistance value detected by the resistance value detection part 10 using the resistance value of the gas sensitive element 2 in reference concentration to calculate the concentration of a gas to be detected.
