摘要 <p>The present invention provides an optical compensatory element optically compensating a liquid crystal layer under a condition for displaying black more precisely, preventing light leakage at a wide viewing angle, and causing less degradation with time, the method for manufacturing thereof; a liquid crystal display and a liquid crystal projector capable of yielding a high-quality image at a high contrast and a wide viewing angle by using the optical compensate element. The optical compensatory element contains a transparent substrate, an organic material layer having at least one optically anisotropic layer formed of a polymerizable compound, and an inorganic material layer, the organic material layer and the inorganic material layer being arranged in this order on or above a surface of the substrate, wherein the wet contact angle of the surface of the organic material layer facing the inorganic material layer relative to pure water at 25 is 50 degrees or less.</p>
