PRODUCTION PROCESS OF PURIFIED GREEN TEA EXTRACT

Provided are a method for preparing a purified green tea extract to remove the turbid part of a green tea extract effectively, a purified green tea extract prepared by the method, and a beverage containing the extract. The method comprises the steps of contacting a green tea extract with a mixture solution comprising an organic solvent and water in a ratio of 65:35 - 97:3 by weight and an activated carbon and/or acidic white clay or activated white clay; controlling the weight ratio of an organic solvent and water of the obtained green tea extract solution to be 0:100 - 85:15; and separating the precipitated turbid part of the solution. The purified green tea extract contains 36-99 wt% of a nonpolymeric catechin material in a solid part.
