<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating the flowering extent of a cut flower where a baseline for estimating flowering extent has objectivity and reproduction, enabling flower-selection work by a machine or an unskilled person, and enabling estimation of the flowering extent in consideration of the number of flowers or volume of stems and leaves. <P>SOLUTION: The device for estimating the flowering extent of cut flowers 1 is provided with a lighting system 10 storing cut flowers F to irradiate them with light, a CCD camera 30 taking photographs of the cut flowers F from the vertical point of the cut flowers F, and a personal computer 40 processing the images of the cut flowers F the pictures of which are taken with the CCD camera to calculate a flowering extent value for estimating the flowering extent of the cut flowers. The CCD camera 30 scans the digital image of the flower the photogragh of which is taken to output RGB signals. The personal computer 40 exchanges the RGB signal to an HSI color specification system composed of hue, color saturation and brightness, discriminates the blossom bud part Fa and the stalk/leaf part Fb each of the cut flower F based on the image information of the exchanged HSI color specification system, and calculates the flowering extent value of the cut flower F based on the discriminated flowering bud part Fa and the stalk/leaf part Fb. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
