PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly improve characteristics of communication with a contactless IC tag.

SOLUTION: The problem to be solved can be solved by a reader device 100 which is equipped with a resonance circuit 102 capable of altering electromagnetic characteristics during access to the contactless IC tag 200, and reads resonance circuit setting information previously registered in the contactless IC tag 200 and used to set the resonance circuit 102 to alter the electromagnetic characteristics of the resonance circuit 102 based upon the resonance circuit setting information read out of the contactless IC tag 200.
