<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR device achieving a high air excess ratio. <P>SOLUTION: In the EGR device re-circulating part of exhaust gas from an engine 1 to intake air as EGR gas through EGR passage 14c, an EGR cooler 7 cooling re-circulated EGR gas is provided in the EGR passage, the EGR cooler is provided with a cooler part 7b cooling EGR gas, a catalyst part 7a installed in an upstream of the cooler part in an EGR gas flow direction, and a fuel addition means 8 adding fuel to the catalyst part, and oxygen concentration in EGR gas is reduced by adding fuel to the catalyst part and burning the same. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
