<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the display of a message in using contents and to control the use of compact contents. <P>SOLUTION: In reproducing contents stored in an information recording medium, the use of contents based on valid content use authority is allowed, and when illegal content use is determined on the basis of security check, the display of a message such as a reason for the stop of content reproduction or the reception of a user response to the displayed message is executed.
