<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ticket gate and a ticket examination method, capable of improving efficiency of ticket examination by improving flowage inhibition in a ticket gate passage. <P>SOLUTION: This ticket gate comprises a first radio communication processing unit 110 performing radio communication with a ticket medium through a first antenna part 113 arranged on the upstream side of the ticket gate passage and reading ticket information necessary for ticket examination processing from the ticket medium; and a second radio communication processing unit 120 performing, in the event of radio communication error by the first processing unit 110, radio communication with the ticket medium through a second antenna part 124 arranged on the downstream side of the ticket gate passage and reading ticket information from the ticket medium.
