PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for producing foam improved in deformation, shrinkage and water absorption property, to provide a foam production method foaming and curing the resin composition for producing foam, and to provide foam obtained by the foam production method. SOLUTION: The resin composition for producing foam and to be foamed and cured in the presence of a foaming agent is obtained by using as an essential constituent a water repellent fine powder having≤100 nm average particle diameter with a synthetic resin, a foaming agent and a curing agent. The water repellent fine powder is preferably fine particles surface-treated with a hydrophobic group having C<SB>n</SB>H<SB>2+1</SB>structural formula.
