PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for effectively achieving effective utilization of a limited storage area while improving usability for a user, in relation to an image input/output system of the image forming apparatus suitable for applying to a digital copying machine having a personal box function. SOLUTION: An automatic document copy BOX carries out copying, only linkage of a document to copy destination boxes A, B, C (logic copying). Processing such as print and preview is available for the logically copied document, but document edit system operation such as page deletion and page insertion cannot be executed.
