PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser device having a film for protecting an end surface that is compatible with a trend toward a higher output or a shorter wavelength. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser device has, on at least one of the end surfaces of an optical resonator, a dielectric film, which comprises a first dielectric film and a second dielectric film composed of identical chemical elements and formed in order from the end surface side of the semiconductor, the first dielectric film including a film made of a single crystal and the second dielectric film including a film made of an amorphous material.
