PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoresis display 100 wherein memory properties of pixel display is enhanced by enhancing holding capability of charged particles 5 on a display surface and driving instability of a pixel is not generated by promptly eliminating a residual DC component of a transfer space 50 of the charged particles 5. SOLUTION: A resistance layer 8 of a diamond like carbon film is sputtered on the entire surface of a rear substrate 1 wherein a solid construction of a display electrode 5 and a partition 3 is formed. The partition 3 is formed with a conductive material and also serves as a partition electrode 7. Even when a residual charge is generated at an insulating liquid 4 and the interface thereof by the resistance layer 8 which is conductive though having high resistance, the residual charge is escaped to the partition electrode 7 and the display electrode 6 to be promptly eliminated. Satisfactory memory properties of the pixel display and reproducibility of the pixel display stable for a long time and multi-times can be attained by stability of the diamond like carbon film and affinity with the charged particles 5.
