PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control device capable of driving a motor even if a semiconductor switch fails in an open state. SOLUTION: This motor control device comprises a serial motor 7 in which a terminal 19 among two terminals 19, 20 connected to each other is connected to a battery, a relay 8 connecting the terminal 20 to an open point when turned on and connecting the terminal 20 to a ground when turned off, a FET 13 connecting the terminal 20 to the ground when turned off and cutting off the terminal 20 from the ground when turned off, and a control part 18 turning off the relay 8 when any requirement among predetermined requirements is established and turning on the relay 8 when all the predetermined requirements are not met to control the FET 13 by PWM. A drive force is provided to the serial motor 7 since a current flows across the terminals 19 and 20. Under predetermined conditions, the FET 13 fails in the open state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
