PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a road with a drainage facility strip transferred beneath a sidewalk, securing a sidewalk width while obeying restrictions on the whole width of the road. SOLUTION: An existing drainage facility is changed into an automobile approach preventive strip 20 narrower than the width of the existing drainage facility and having an opening 19 for the passage of rainwater. A sidewalk drainage ditch 23 is installed in the sidewalk, and rainwater having passed the opening 19 for the passage of rainwater is led to the sidewalk drainage ditch 23. With the change into the automobile approach preventive strip 20 narrower than the width of the existing drainage facility, the width of the sidewalk can be widened by that part.
