METHOD FOR SETUP OF VIDEO CALL IN PACKET DATA NETWORK

A video call setup method in a packet data network is provided to allow a TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) connection setup procedure to be reattempted at the certain number of times, and to prevent an unnecessary message for forcibly terminating the TCP connection setup procedure from being transmitted to a terminal, thus drop phenomenon during TCP call processing is improved. A gatekeeper transmits a synchronization request message to a video phone terminal(S101,S103). If an ACK(Acknowledgement) message is not received from the video phone terminal, it is decided whether the number of times the synchronization request message is transmitted to the video phone terminal is the same as the designated number of times(S105,S107). If so, a TCP connection setup procedure is interrupted.
